THE Highlighter

A few months back, a friend asked me about countouring and highlighting thus inspiring me to renew my search for that perfect product. After much research, i ended up with a new highlighter and 2 contouring powders -- but I'll save the contouring powders for another post and will just discuss my new find for now. :P

I already have a highlighter, theBalm's Mary-lou Manizer, which I have already reviewed here. I still think it's great but i need to be really careful during application which i just can't be bothered with as it turns out. ^_^U 

Hence, after much contemplating due to its price (Php 1,550.00 at Rustans), i decided to get NARS Albatross based on the number of great reviews I have read. And boy! Did it deliver! :)

Review: K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner 24H (WP)

I have tried many liquid eyeliner before -- from korean brands and the drugstore -- but i always end up not using them since i can't apply them properly and will always be left with a mess. That is, until i found K-Palette's Real Lasting Eyeliner.

It took me 3 visits to the MUFE's pop-up store at SM Aura and read a lot of reviews before i decided to get this palette. And glad i am!

Day 2 of my pro bridal makeup class was such fun since my friend Janine agreed to model for me. I was also allowed to use my own brushes and makeup kit which have its ups -- and unexpected down.

Quick Review: Benefit Bathina

If you want extra glow that looks natural and not glittery, Benefit's Bathina is the thing you need! This body balm can be used anywhere but I prefer to use it on my legs to tame the look of dryness due to shaving. The only thing i don't like is how it takes a while to put this on since you need to buff it with the puff it comes with. I guess i should have gotten the lotion/liquid type but since i use public transport to get to work (and Manila is such a hot and humid place) i thought that the lotion type might not  stay long... Nonetheless, im still happy with my balm, just need to fight the laziness that comes with applying it. :D

Day 1 at MP School: Classic Bridal Look

It was my first day at makeup school last week and it was a combination of excitement and anxiety. Excitement because i am now a step closer to my dream of becoming a pro makeup artist and anxiety since i am not used to the brand of makeup and brushes that they are using (added to that is my pretty model have un-groomed brows and breakouts).

The structure of the class was lecture, demo then hands-on exercise. During the lecture and demo, it was emphasized that the classic bridal look is light, natural but defined -- utilizing neutral or earth tones for the eyes.

Review: Clinique Airbrush Concealer

I am a fan of Lisa Eldridge (i subscribed to her youtube channel and website www.lisaeldrige.com) and one of the products frequently featured is Clinique's Airbrush Concealer. Hence, when i was looking for an under eye concealer i was choosing between this and MAC's Studio Finish Concealer. And i guess i don't need to say which one i have gotten. ;)

Clinique Airbrush Concealer is PHP1,150.00 at Rustan's and Clinique boutiques. Note that we only got shade 03-Light here in the Philippines.

Review: MAC 'Illustrated' Pink Lip Bag and All Over Brush Kit byRebecca Moses (Limited Edition)

The MAC 'Illustrated' Collection bug has hit me -- hard! After getting the Plum Face Kit, i kept thinking of where to store this little, pristine, white, illustrated box and the only answer i came up with is the Pink Lip Bag under the same collection. Also comes to mind is if I'm going to use these kits, i also need travel friendly brushes. Hence, I also picked the All Over Brush Kit! :)

The lip bag cost Php 3,060.00 while the brush set cost Php 3,800.00 at our local MAC boutiques.

Review: Benefit Eye Bright

I was lacking some sleep this past few days and it is starting to show on my eyes. And here I was thinking about how to deal with my tired eyes when i saw Benefit's post on Facebook about Eye Bright. Being the impulsive consumer that i am, i got one when i went to Benefit. This cost Php1,100 at Benefit's boutique at Rustan's Glorietta 3.

Review: Benefit Hoola

As mentioned before, im trying to complete my makeup arsenal by finding the perfect highlighter and bronzer for contouring. And guess what! I've finally found them! Double yey!! ^_^ For highlighter, that is theBalm's Mary-Lou Manizer which i already reviewed. And for my bronzer/contour shade, that is Benefit's Hoola (Hoola is available at Benefit boutique at Rustan's Glorietta 3 for Php1,100).

Review: Max Factor Clump Defy Mascara

I've previously reviewed/shown here on my blog how Fairydrops Platinum Mascara (WT) wears on me and how I didn't see the dramatic results others have raved about. And now, here are my thoughts on a mascara i use whenever i want natural looking lashes with an added omph! -- Max Factor's Clump Defy Mascara (in brown-black).

Review: theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer

I'm so happy and satisfied with all my purchases these past few months especially my MAC 'Illustrated' Face Kit which i also reviewed here on my blog. However I realized that I do NOT have a good highlighter (nor bronzer) -- essential when you want to contour your face. ^_^

After reading a number of reviews, I decided to get theBalm's Mary-Lou Manizer (aka 'the luminizer') since they said it's almost as good as Guerlain's Meteorites without the expensive price tag.

Here is the box it comes with. theBalm products always have quirky designs. :)

Review: MAC 'Illustrated' Face Kit by Rebecca Moses | Plum (LimitedEdition)

The moment i saw MAC's Illustrated Collection by Rebecca Moses, i immediately wanted to get the plum face kit! But since it cost so much here in the Philippines (PHP 3,800 = USD 85.70), i tried(!) to convince myself that i don't need this palette. However, after a week of psyching myself out (mentally listing the makeups in my collection and thus giving myself reasons NOT to buy), my EQ finally gave in to that persistent voice to get this pretty box of goodies!!! Happy me!!! ^_^ (i was all smiles at the store!)

Review: CELETEQUE DermoScience™ Brightening Tri-Benefit Power Cream

I know my first post is about MAC but i decided to do a review about my moisturizer first since a good skin results to beautiful makeup application. :)

I've gone through 2 jars of Celeteque's Tri-benefit Power Cream when i suddenly decided to try Olay's. However, I had breakouts so i just bought my 3rd jar of my trusted Celeteque cream.

Still on my 'to purchase' list are:

    - more lippies! I LOVE their mattes! They don't bleed and stay on for hours!
